Symbolism

Arms

The Arms are based on those associated with Murphy, Mr. Doyle’s father’s name. Red and white are also the colours of Canada. The cross is in the style used in the Royal Crown and indicates Mr. Doyle’s support of the Crown and justice in Canada. The three trefoils allude to the Irish heritage of the families of Doyle, Murphy and Ross.

Crest

The crest is based on a Doyle design which contains a stag and coronet. Here the coronet contains maple leaves for Canada and thistle heads to allude to the birthplace of his grandparents, Scotland.

Motto

This Latin motto means “Faithful to God and Queen.”
